The Choreography Competition is a friendly competition between students of TLFCB where students above the age of 7 are given the opportunity to showcase their creative skills in dance.
Auditions: April 29th, 2022, 6pm, HQ Ulsoor
Finals: May 20th, 2022, 12pm, Shoonya
Guidelines:
- The competition is open to two age groups: 7-12 years, and 13-18 years
- Students will choose one piece of music from the options given and choreograph an original piece to that, no more than 1.5 minutes of the piece. Any section of the song can be used. CLICK HERE to find the songs
- Each participant can make up to 2 entries (one solo and/or one group piece)
- All styles of dance are welcome, but all participants must adhere to the music options provided
- The judging criteria include style, musicality, performance, artistry and creativity
- All choreography has to be students’ own original choreography, not pieces choreographed by others, performed in shows or from Youtube.
In order to enter the competition:
- Create a 1-1.5 minute long piece of choreography to one of the music options provided

- Come to the Choreography Competition Auditions on Friday the 29th of April at 6pm at HQ, Ulsoor.
If you are selected for the Finals:
- Choreography Competition Finals will take place on Friday the 20th of May at 12pm at Shoonya, Lalbagh.
- Finalists will perform their choreography at the finals in front of an audience. This is a live event. Parents, relatives and friends are welcome to attend!
- Finalists should come prepared in appropriate attire/costume/makeup, and ready to perform from 12pm onwards
- The Judges will deliberate, and the winners will be announced at the event
Prize catogeries:
- 1st Prize (overall score for style, musicality, performance, artistry and creativity)
- Runner up (overall score style, musicality, performance, artistry and creativity)
- Musicality Award (awarded for exceptional musicality)
- Creativity Award (awarded for exceptional creativity)
