Formal assessments for Primary and Grade 1 students are from 15th of November to the 27th of November. The students will be assessed through individual pre-recorded videos. The videos will be recorded during students’ regular class time. Students must be present during these two weeks.
The videos should be sent to us before the 4th of December. We have decided on this option, so we can see each individual student fully and clearly through a recording. Teachers are aware of new students to ballet and students new to their level, this will be taken into consideration during their assessment. All syllabus content has been taught in their regular classes.
Pre-requisites:
- The room where the student is recorded must be well lit and as clear as possible.
- Students must be in full, clean uniform – this is a formal assessment. Primary and Grade 1 – pink leotard, pink ballet tights, pink ballet skirt, pink ballet shoes. Hair must be tied in a ballet bun. Leggings can not be worn.

What you will need:
- A recording device. A phone will be sufficient.
- A device to upload the videos onto Google drive.
- The assistance of a parent/guardian during the recording process – this will ensure that the teachers will be able to see the entire exercise, even as the students move.
How to shoot the video:
- Ensure your child is in full frame, from the tops of the arms when raised over the head down to the feet.
- If the child moves out of the shot, please follow them to keep the child in the frame.
- Record the video landscape mode.
- The exercises can be recorded individually in separate short videos, or several exercises together in the same video.
- Ensure both classes are filmed in full as the teacher will demonstrate all the exercises.
When to shoot the video:
Commencing from Monday 15th November to Saturday 20th November we will be covering assessment session 1 during your child’s regular class time . The following week starting Monday 22nd November to Saturday 27th November we will be covering assessment session 2.
We highly recommend that students do not miss classes these 2 weeks while parents video their child during these classes. If you prefer to video your child outside of class hours, that is also fine, but teachers will not be available to assisst. We do not recommend recording outside of class hours.
How to share the video with us:
- Name each recorded video with the student’s full name, and if there are several videos, number them. Example: ElinaWisung1 ; ElinaWisung2 ; ElinaWisung3.
- Below you will find a list of upload links for all classes. Click on the link for your class. You will find many folders there with student’s full names. Find your folder. Double click on it so you are in your folder.
- Upload the recording in your folder , before the 30th of November.
- The video must be uploaded in mp4 format.
- All videos must be uploaded by December 4th. After this, parent access to the upload folder will be locked in order to safeguard the videos.

If you know you are going to miss one of the assessment classes, please get in touch with the administration immediately to see if an alternative can be arranged during the same week. This can only be applied in exceptional circumstances.
