Since 2006, The Lewis Foundation of Classical Ballet (TLFCB) has been dedicated to teaching Imperial classical ballet in India. Affiliated with ISTD, London, we train, choreograph, and stage ballets for hundreds of students and dancers in southern India.

Openings for Ballet Teachers
ISTD / RAD / Vaganova or equivalent
We are seeking technically skilled, adaptable, and enthusiastic ballet teachers who loves working with children and young dancers. If you hold an ISTD, RAD, Vaganova, or equivalent certification or degree in dance, and possess a naturally fun and inspirational teaching style that emphasizes the finer details of ballet technique, you could be the perfect fit for our team. Our ideal candidate is not only a master of classical ballet but also versatile enough to teach jazz, contemporary, and other dance styles. We value educators who create engaging, nurturing environments and inspire each student to reach their full potential both artistically and personally.
Requirements :
What you need to have
- minimum one year commitment full-time with possibility of renewal which can be done on mutually agreeable terms and from India directly
- ISTD/RAD/Vaganova equivalent certification or dance degree
- Ability / Adaptability to teach ballet following the ISTD Imperial Ballet syllabus
- Proven background in classical ballet teaching young children from the ages of 4 to 14 years
- Experience conducting regular assessments
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Genuine love for ballet and commitment to inspiring young dancers.
- Experience in choreography and creating captivating productions with young dancers
- Ability to take Jazz / Contemporary / Modern classes
- Interest in general administration, costume design and other areas will be a plus.
Responsibilities :
What You’ll Do
- Design and conduct daily ballet lessons for students aged 4 to 14, ensuring that each class aligns with the Imperial Ballet ISTD syllabus.
- Create engaging and effective lesson plans that build technical proficiency and artistic expression in young dancers.
- Lead the choreography for school productions and performances, crafting captivating routines that showcase the students’ progress.
- Take classes in Jazz , Contemporary, or Modern dance classes
- Keep a positive, supportive environment that encourages each student to achieve their personal best, both on and off the stage.
- Work closely with the Artistic Director and other staff to coordinate class schedules, performance events, and overall student development.
- Assist with routine administrative tasks related to class organization, performance planning, and occasional costume or set design collaborations.
